On June 10, news from the Department of Home Affairs of Khanh Hoa said that it had sent a report to the Provincial People's Committee proposing to temporarily suspend the recruitment of civil servants in Khanh Hoa province in 2026.
Previously, based on the number of civil servant staff assigned by competent authorities in 2025, the Department of Home Affairs summarized the recruitment needs of agencies and localities and advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a Decision on the recruitment plan for civil servants in Khanh Hoa province in 2026.
According to this plan, the total recruitment demand is 407 targets.
However, on June 2, 2026, the Politburo issued Conclusion No. 40-KL/TW, requesting that for places with a larger number of civil servants and public employees than the assigned payroll in 2026, it is necessary to urgently develop appropriate and feasible plans, solutions, and roadmaps to gradually arrange and adjust so that by the end of 2026, the payroll assigned by the Politburo must be returned to the correct number...
On the same day, the Politburo issued Decision No. 185-QD/TW on staffing for 2026. Accordingly, Khanh Hoa province is assigned 6,449 cadre and civil servant positions for both the Party and government blocs, a reduction of 381 positions compared to the 6,830 positions assigned in 2025.
The Department of Home Affairs assessed that the number of staff in 2025 - the basis for building the 2026 Civil Servant Recruitment Plan - has had a very large change when the assigned staff quota for 2026 decreased sharply.
Based on the provisions of Decree No. 170/2025/ND-CP of the Government, civil servant recruitment must be based on staffing quotas, job positions and actual needs.
Therefore, the Department of Home Affairs proposed that the Provincial People's Committee consider temporarily suspending the recruitment of civil servants until the competent authority completes the assignment of staff for cadres and civil servants in 2026 to the government sector of Khanh Hoa province.
