The Hanoi People's Committee has just submitted a document to the City People's Council for consideration and decision on the investment policy for the Hanoi Environmental Renovation and Waste-to- House Power generation Project.
According to the Proposal, the key goal is to treat daily household waste, the amount of waste buried at the Nam Son solid waste treatment complex and wastewater drainage mud using incineration technology, taking advantage of heat to generate electricity.
This not only ensures current environmental standards and regulations but also aims to renovate and restore the existing landfill environment, bringing high socio-economic efficiency, especially reducing odor pollution, affecting the health of Soc Son people.
Accordingly, the city plans to build a waste-to-energy plant with a capacity of 2,400 tons/day. Of which, the domestic waste treatment capacity is 2,250 tons/day and the sludge treatment capacity after drying is 150 tons/day. Power generation capacity is about 60MW.
In addition, the project will build a sludge drying system with a capacity of 600 tons/day; build a connecting line from the plant to the National power system, raw water supply pipeline and auxiliary items.
Apply waste incineration technology using a kiln to treat unsorted household waste and sludge after drying. The flying trousers after the snake transformation will be buried at locations designated by the State Management Agency.
The project implementation location is in the northern area of the Soc Son Waste Treatment Complex Construction Project Phase II with a total area of 12.46 hectares.
The project will be implemented from the third quarter of 2024 to the fourth quarter of 2029. The estimated project implementation cost is about VND 7,531 billion, from the investor's capital.
The Hanoi People's Committee said that the project has been appraised and met the conditions for approving the investment policy according to the provisions of the Law on Investment under the public-private partnership method and related documents.
It is expected that the above content will be considered and approved by the City People's Council at the 24th session held on June 27.
