Relocating Cam Pha cement factory before 2030

Quang Ninh - According to the Urban Development Program of Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province, by 2030, a series of factories will have to relocate to other places.

Among these is Cam Pha Cement Factory, Cam Thach Ward, Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province. This factory is located in sub-area A, including Cam Thach ward and Quang Hanh ward, planned to develop services and tourism.

This is one of the large cement factories in Quang Ninh, located right on the shore of Bai Tu Long Bay.

Along with Cam Pha Cement Factory, the nearby Km6 Port Cluster - which used to be a site of heavy pollution in Bai Tu Long Bay - will also have to be relocated to convert to a tourist service port and a passenger port after the Prime Minister approves to include this area in the list of infrastructure projects serving the development of the Coal industry that have been approved.

Zone A with the great advantage of being located right on the coastal road of Ha Long - Cam Pha, with Bai Tu Long Bay outside, is expected to create a breakthrough in tourism and service economy, focusing on Quang Hanh Mineral Spring Tourism Area, combining resort tourism, treatment, meditation, energy recovery along with the construction of Biodiversity Reserve, Golf course service area...

Regarding spatial orientation, the coastal road connecting Ha Long City with Cam Pha City becomes a tourism - service axis and urban linkage, but must preserve protective forests, mangrove forests, and limestone mountainous areas on the island to preserve the landscape.

In particular, controlling construction activities outside the coastal road to higher floors and prioritizing the development of empty coastal corridors to bring the image of the sea deep into the mainland. Control the activities of Con Ong seaport, especially the area of the port leaving Hon Net to avoid major impacts on coastal ecological areas, control possible pollution risks.

Do not develop in coastal mangrove forests, especially in sensitive areas at river mouths. Limit sea encroachment, the development boundary towards the sea is only the coastal road that has been determined; in the future, when there is a need, it needs to be exploited in the direction of optimizing the existing land fund and other inland areas to better preserve Bai Tu Long Bay.

In addition to Cam Pha Cement Factory, Cam Pha City, in Ha Long, 2 cement factories, including: Thang Long and Ha Long located on the shore of Cua Luc Bay, are also expected to be relocated before 2030.
