    Khanh Hoa province is the only locality in the country where after the merger, there are 2 power companies operating in parallel.

    Mr. Ngo Tan Cu, General Director of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) said: after Ninh Thuan province merges into Khanh Hoa, EVNCPC will receive Ninh Thuan Power Company from the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC).

    However, because the whole country only has Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company as a company operating under the equity model in the electricity distribution sector (EVNCPC) with 51% shares), Ninh Thuan Power Company did not merge with Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company.

    Therefore, after the recent meeting between the Central Power Corporation and the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, the two sides agreed that in Khanh Hoa province, there will be 2 Power Companies managing and operating together, with a total power source capacity connected to the medium, low voltage and 110kV grid of the new Khanh Hoa province after the merger of about 2,185MW.

    And Ninh Thuan Power Company was renamed Khanh Hoa Power Company.
