As Lao Dong newspaper reported, at noon on February 21, a collision between a paraglider and a car caused congestion on National Highway 4C section passing through Quan Ba commune, Tuyen Quang province.
At the above time, the paraglider at the flight point in Sang Phang commune encountered an incident and crashed into a car parked near National Highway 4C. The frame and propulsion engine of the paraglider weighed a ton, causing the car roof to be deformed.

In addition to the parachute that encountered an incident and fell, some other paragliders also flew at low altitudes, causing people to worry. The initial cause of the incident was determined to be technical problems, the paraglider got caught in electrical wires before falling.
The paragliding incident at noon on February 21st on National Highway 4C raises questions about management and flight safety assurance.
In fact, similar accidents have also appeared recently in Vietnam.
In July 2025, a paragliding accident at Son Tra peak (Da Nang) killed 1 tourist. At that time, the victim named T. and a pilot took off from a paragliding point on Son Tra mountain peak.
Not long after that, the parachute had an accident and fell into the area near the foot of the mountain. The accident killed Mr. T. on the spot, and the parachute operator was slightly injured.
Also in 2025, a paragliding incident occurred on Bai Chay beach (former Ha Long City).
At that time, a motorized parachute with a driver suddenly fell into the sea after swaying in the air.
Rescue forces then brought a speedboat to rescue. The incident did not cause any casualties.
And in March 2024, an accident occurred at the Paragliding Tournament Exploring the Great Forest - Sa Thay 2024 in Kon Tum province.
While preparing to land, the paraglider of the male athlete from Hanoi suddenly twisted, causing this person to fall from above to the ground. The victim later died.
The cause was determined to be a technical malfunction when the pilot was preparing to land.
Also in 2024, a man parachuted from the top of Bu 833 hill, Nam Phuong Tien commune, Chuong My district (old), Hanoi city down to the field area and got stuck on a 110kV high-voltage power line.
The location where the man was trapped was about 25m above the ground, this person was suspended between two bare electric wires.
Functional agencies were forced to cut off the power, mobilizing dozens of people to rescue the victim safely to the ground.

At the same time, a parachute accident caused a man to hang in the air for about 2 hours in Quang Tien commune, Hoa Binh city (old). This person parachuted without permission, getting caught in a 35kV power line.
The incident forced the electricity unit to cut off electricity throughout Quang Tien commune to bring the man down.
Also at the festival held in Mu Cang Chai in March 2020, a Russian pilot in the process of controlling paragliding fell into a deep abyss from a height of about 20m.
The pilot in the above incident was injured, the cause was determined to be a technical take-off error combined with weather factors.
The continuous incidents in the past time show that paragliding is an extreme sport that requires strict safety standards. At the same time, it raises many issues about management, licensing and supervision of flight activities.

According to experts, participating in extreme sports such as parachuting always has certain risks. Players should carefully research information and assess safety about service providers before participating.
Tourists can request the unit to provide information related to the flight pilot, such as certificates and flight times.
