According to Lao Dong, Mr. Le Thanh Do - Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee - has just signed a decision to temporarily provide regular expenditure funds from the local budget for newly established communes and wards in 2025. Accordingly, the total temporary budget allocated to 45 newly established communes and wards is 556.5 billion VND.
Newly established communes and wards prioritize the implementation of expenditure tasks, including: salaries and amounts of salary nature; professional fees and public service fees; serving the activities of commune-level government; activities preparing for commune-level Party congresses; other truly necessary tasks.
The People's Committee of Dien Bien province assigns the Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and wards that are temporarily granted funding to be responsible for managing, using and settling the temporarily granted funding sources to ensure compliance with the procedures and order according to the provisions of current law.
This Decision takes effect from July 1, 2025.
According to the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Dien Bien province, 129 communes, wards and towns will be rearranged to establish 45 new commune-level administrative units (42 communes, 3 wards).
