The People's Committee of Dien Bien province has just announced decisions to establish 5 Regional Project Management Boards.
These boards were established on the basis of receiving people and facilities from project management boards and developing land funds in 10 districts, towns and cities when there were still district-level administrative units.
Along with that, the Provincial People's Committee also mobilized and appointed officials from Project Management and Land Fund Development Boards at the district, town and city levels to hold the positions of Deputy Directors at Project Management Boards in 5 areas.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony of decisions on personnel work, Mr. Le Thanh Do - Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee said that the establishment of 5 regional project management boards is part of the roadmap for reorganizing the project management and land fund development model.
This is to ensure compliance with the 2-level local government model that will be operated nationwide from July 1.
"It is very necessary to improve staff and establish regional project management boards in the context of the province promoting administrative reform and implementing key tasks, especially in the field of public investment. Regional Committees must urgently stabilize the organizational structure and receive transitional projects to ensure uninterrupted operations" - Mr. Le Thanh Do emphasized.
According to Lao Dong's research, when switching to the operation of the 2-level local government from July 1, 2025, the regional project management boards will take over all the tasks currently performed by the project management boards, developing land funds at district, town and city levels.
Thus, after establishing 5 Regional Project Management Boards, Dien Bien province currently has 8 specialized Project Management Boards under the People's Committee, including: Project Management Board for Civil and Industrial Works; Project Management Board for Traffic Works; Project Management Board for Agricultural and Rural Development Works;
5 project management boards in the area: Area 1 (communes and wards of Dien Bien Phu city and the old Muong Ang district); Area 2 (communes of Dien Bien - Dien Bien Dong district); Area 3 (old Muong Cha - Muong Lay communes) Area 4 (communes of the old Tuan Giao - Tua Chua district) and Area 5 managing communes of Muong Nhe and Nam Po districts.
