On August 30, according to PV's investigation, Thanh Yen Commune People's Committee is still continuing to find organizations and individuals who have planted rice on an area of 2,670m2 of protection forest destroyed in Pung Bon village.
At the same time, the government requested to remove all rice plants and hand over the area to the local authorities for management and protection.
According to Thanh Yen Commune People's Committee, through patrols and inspections on July 14, 2026, functional forces discovered a deforested area of 2,670m2 at Lot 12j, Lot 15, plot 5, sub-zone 340_745, Pung Bon village.
This area belongs to the protection forest plan, has not been assigned, has not been leased and is managed and protected by Thanh Yen Commune People's Committee.
At the time of inspection, the entire area of forest destroyed had been put into cultivation and rice cultivation. However, functional agencies have not identified the organization or individual performing the cultivation.
Thanh Yen Commune People's Committee requests organizations and individuals who have sown rice or have rights and interests related to the above rice plant area to come to the Commune People's Committee headquarters to work, provide information, documents and explain the use of this land area.
The locality also requested relevant organizations and individuals to voluntarily remove all planted rice plants, collect crops and hand over the original area to the Commune People's Committee for management and protection.
According to the notice, the voluntary removal of rice plants does not exclude the responsibility for handling administrative violations (if any) according to the provisions of law.
Thanh Yen Commune People's Committee said that after the notice period expires, if no organizations or individuals come to work or do not voluntarily uproot rice plants, the locality will coordinate with relevant agencies and units to inspect, prepare dossiers and organize handling according to its authority.
Talking to PV, a representative of Thanh Yen Commune People's Committee said that so far the commune has not found the person who planted the above-mentioned rice. In the near future, the locality will arrange people to come to uproot this rice.
Costs arising from uprooting, clearing plants and implementing remedial measures will be handled according to the decision of the competent person and legal regulations.
According to representatives of the Thanh Yen commune government, the protection forest area was burned and destroyed during the dry season, and so far the commune has not found any related subjects.
