On the afternoon of September 23, according to the People's Committee of Binh Long ward (Dong Nai city), functional units of the ward are continuing to coordinate with PC07 Department of Dong Nai City Police to search for people and cars suspected of being swept away by water and missing.
The scene of the search area takes place at Xa Cat lake, Xa Cam neighborhood, Binh Long ward, Dong Nai city.
Functional forces sent many frogmen to dive and search under the lake. Boats were also used to patrol the area around the lake.
As of this afternoon, the person and the suspected missing car have not been found. Search work continues to be deployed on a large scale.
Functional forces used flycams to survey the entire area of Xa Cat Lake, and at the same time expanded the search area and coordinated with local people to collect more information.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Binh Long ward, along with leaders of functional sectors, were present at the scene to direct and encourage forces performing the search task.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that in the late afternoon of September 22, prolonged heavy rain caused many roads in Binh Long ward to be deeply flooded. At about 5 pm on the same day, on Su Van Hanh street (Xa Cam neighborhood, Binh Long ward), people discovered a white car swept away by the water, so they quickly reported it to functional agencies.
Immediately after receiving the information, Binh Long Ward Police urgently reported to superiors, and at the same time coordinated with PC07 Department of Dong Nai City Police, military and civil defense forces and related units to deploy search and rescue plans in the area identified as the place where the person was suspected of missing.
Due to the continued complicated weather, prolonged heavy rain, strong currents, limited visibility and difficult search terrain, it has significantly affected the rescue and relief process.
