Ho Chi Minh City - On the evening of March 21, functional agencies are coordinating to investigate the cause of a large fire at an empty lot in Linh Xuan ward.

According to initial information, at about 5:15 pm on March 21, a fire suddenly broke out from an empty lot in the premises of a facility in the middle of a residential area located on Street No. 1, Linh Xuan Ward.

Because the inside contained many flammable materials, combined with the surrounding dry grass, the fire quickly flared up fiercely. In just a few minutes, the fire spread, a column of black smoke rose tens of meters high, causing people in the area to panic. Many people mobilized vehicles to put out the fire on the spot but failed.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police force immediately mobilized many fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to coordinate with Linh Xuan Ward Police to blockade the scene and deploy a fire fighting plan.

Due to the characteristics of the scene having a thick layer of materials, functional forces had to mobilize 2 specialized excavators to support firefighting work. These vehicles continuously raked and moved layers of unburned materials out so that water hoses could spray water directly into the center of the fire, preventing the risk of smoldering and spreading.

By 7:30 PM on the same day, the fire was basically under control. However, because the fire occurred during rush hour, traffic through Do Muoi street area and branch routes faced many difficulties. Traffic police forces were present to regulate and divert traffic from afar to minimize congestion.

Currently, functional agencies are phong tỏa the scene, thống kê damage and investigating to clarify the cause of the fire.
