On the evening of March 20, the Office of the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense provided information on the work of ensuring pontoon bridges; Fire, forest fires and search and rescue work.
Regarding the work of ensuring pontoon bridges, during the day, the Ministry of National Defense mobilized 160 officers and soldiers and 84 vehicles of all kinds, maintaining the operation of the Song Lo pontoon bridge, ensuring safe passage for 4,523 people and vehicles.
Regarding the fires, the report said that at about 6:00 PM on March 19, a fire occurred at 1 house in Mo village, Chau Que commune/Lao Cai. Consequences: 1 person died (T.T. T, born 2022) on the way to the hospital for emergency treatment; 2 people were injured (L.T. M, born 2004, T.T. L, born 2002), due to an electrical short circuit.
The locality mobilized 88 people (Army: 5, Militia: 8, Police: 25, Other forces: 50) to participate in handling the fire. The fire was extinguished at 6:30 pm on the same day.
In another incident, at about 8:43 PM on March 19, at alley 60 Dinh Cong Ha, Dinh Cong ward/Hanoi City, a fire broke out in 30m2 of a resident's house, the cause was an electrical short circuit. The locality mobilized 18 people (Army: 3, Militia: 15), 2 fire prevention and fighting teams in coordination with local forces to extinguish the fire at 9:05 PM on the same day.
At 7:45 PM on March 19, a fire occurred in A Luoi 1 commune/Hue City, about 2 hectares of mixed forest, due to people burning fields. The Border Guard of Hue City dispatched 15 officers and soldiers/1 car, 8 motorbikes to coordinate with the locality to participate in extinguishing the fire at 9:00 PM on the same day.
At 5:00 AM on March 20, in Phung Di residential group, Dao Vien ward/Bac Ninh, a fire occurred at about 3,000m2 of acacia forest, the cause was people burning votive paper causing the fire to spread. The locality mobilized 200 people. The fire was extinguished at 6:05 AM on the same day.
Regarding search and rescue work, at 1:20 PM on March 18, Da Nam Island Health Station received patient T.V. H (born 2001) who is a general laborer of Tan Cang Dredging Company.
Patient's condition when entering the island: Excitement, loss of direction, screaming, yelling, not cooperating with people around, no signs of abrasions, external injuries.
The island health station performs treatment: Injecting sedatives, helping patients to be less agitated, have better awareness of themselves and their surroundings; currently being monitored and treated on the island, expected to follow the nearest ship to shore.
According to general assessments, agencies and units maintain strict duty regimes, promptly mobilize forces and vehicles, extinguish fires and forest fires, and provide emergency care to patients.
