In late July, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter in Tong village, Chieng An ward recorded that the investor and the construction unit are mobilizing machinery and human resources to work in shifts to complete the final items.
The wastewater treatment plant area has basically taken shape, many technical systems such as biological tanks, pipelines, pumping stations, and operating houses have been installed.
At the pumping station area, engineers are re-checking the control power system and supply valves. Along the main pressure pipeline, the power system and automatic internet connection are also being completed. The urgent construction atmosphere clearly demonstrates the determination to bring the project to the finish line on schedule.

The project is invested by the People's Committee of Son La province, using ODA preferential loans from the German Government, non-refundable aid from the Swiss Government and counterpart funds from the budget. The total investment is more than 900 billion VND, implemented in the period of 2020 - 2025.
The project includes many main items, notably a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 6,857 m3/day and night, using modern bi treating technology, the wastewater after treatment reaches column A according to QCVN 40/2011/BTNMT.
In addition, the project also has 7 pumping stations and 1 manhole with a capacity of 67 m3/hour to 780.98 m3/hour; a system of level 1, 2, 3 wastewater collection pipes and a pressure pipeline with a total length of more than 75,200m; a rainwater drainage system on roads over 2,510m long.

When put into operation, the project will help effectively treat urban wastewater, limit flooding and environmental pollution in the center of Son La province and the downstream area of Nam La stream.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Group 2, To Hieu Ward, shared: "We hope the project will be put into operation soon. Previously, every time it rained heavily, the road was flooded, and wastewater spilled onto the road, causing unsanitary conditions. People are very hopeful that after completion, the neighborhood will be cleaner and more airy".
Mr. Tang Van Thanh - Director of the ODA Project Management Board of Son La province said that the project has been basically completed. There are currently some items such as installing remote control equipment, electrical testing, internet, industrial hygiene and factory renovation. The goal is to be completed in the first week of August.
"The trial run of the entire system will start from August 6, 2025" - Mr. Thanh said.

At the central operator of the wastewater treatment plant, engineers are testing the automatic measurement and control system on the computer.
Mr. Lo Van Nghia - engineer of Seen Technical Joint Stock Company said that we are currently dividing 3 shifts of day and night to work.
"Testing is the key step, the equipment must operate with absolute accuracy. The system uses European technology, each sensor and control valve is activated and strictly inspected" - Mr. Nghia shared.
As a large-scale technical infrastructure project, the drainage and wastewater treatment project in the central area of Son La province plays an important role in the green and sustainable urban development strategy.
