On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - 19.5.2025), Nghe An province in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security and many localities across the country organized the Sen Village Festival in 2025 with large scale, many special and meaningful activities. In particular, this year's festival is associated with the inauguration event of the monument "Uncle Ho visits his hometown".
The event series began with the Flower Offering Ceremony at Ho Chi Minh Square and a parade back to Uncle Ho's hometown at 6:30 a.m. in early May 2025, chaired by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Then, at 7:30 a.m. the same day, the delegates will offer flowers and incense at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and Chung Son Temple.
In the evening, the Photo Rally of Uncle Ho from Kim Lien Relic Site to Lang Sen Stadium will take place at 7:30 p.m. with the participation of many forces, including units under the Ministry of Public Security.
The opening ceremony of the Sen Village Festival and the inauguration of the Monument "Uncle Ho returns to visit his hometown" will take place at 8:00 p.m. in early May at Lang Sen Stadium, Nam Dan District. The program was broadcast live on VTV and NTV, with a 15-minute fireworks display. Nghe An Provincial People's Committee is the unit organizing this important event.
Within the framework of the festival, many outstanding cultural activities will be held such as: "Lang Sen Singing Festival" from May 9 to 14 in Vinh City; Photo exhibition "Land of the country, ASEAN people" (May 10 - 20 at Nghe An Museum); Large cheering painting exhibition (May 8 - 30 at Ho Chi Minh Square); Exhibition "Ho Chi Minh's most beautiful thing in the name of a person" (May 16 - 20 at the Provincial Cultural Center and Ho Tung Mau walking street).
Cinema activities also contribute to enriching the festival with theUncle Ho Film Week from May 15 to 17 at the folk song theater and exchanges with artists and film crews at Vinh University and the 414th Engineering Brigade.
In the field of sports, the 20th National Ethnic Affairs Championship (12-18.5 in Nam Dan), the Sen Village Festival Sports Competition (16 - 19.5) and the Marathon "Uncle's Journey - For National Security" on April 4 in Vinh City are expected to attract a large number of athletes and people to participate.
On this occasion, Nghe An will inaugurate the 9-storey waterfall project at Ms. Hoang Thi Loan's grave, organizing to welcome a famtrip group to survey and promote tourism in the area. A special highlight is the awarding ceremony of the light sculpture "Golden Star" at Bai Duong Stadium, Kim Lien Relic Site.
Closing the festival, at 8:00 p.m. on May 19, 2025 at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City, the special art program "From Sen Village to Ho Chi Minh City" will be held, broadcast live on NTV and HTV, as a symphony of gratitude and continuing the noble ideals of President Ho Chi Minh.
According to Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long, the 2025 Sen Village Festival is not only an opportunity to commemorate and honor the beloved leader of the nation, but also an opportunity to promote the image of Nghe An - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh - to domestic and foreign friends, contributing to promoting cultural, historical, revolutionary values and promoting sustainable tourism development.
