Unique 4-top coconut tree in Ca Mau, has not been fruiting once in more than ten years

PHƯƠNG ANH |

Ca Mau - Also planted more than 10 years ago with 5 other coconut trees, but 1 tree suddenly developed into 4 unique tops and has not yet beared fruit.

The owner of this unique coconut tree is Mr. Huynh Van Hai (born in 1957), residing in Ta Suol hamlet, Hong Dan commune, Ca Mau province (formerly Hong Dan district, Bac Lieu province).

According to Mr. Hai, the coconut tree was planted more than 10 years ago at the same time as 5 other coconut trees in the garden. However, while the remaining trees developed normally and have been fruiting for many years, this coconut tree developed in a special direction when split into 4 branches on the same trunk.

The family said that in the early days they did not notice any difference. When the tree grew larger and the tops developed clearly, they discovered that this was a coconut tree with a rare shape. Although it grew well, its foliage was lush green and developed similarly to other trees of the same age, but so far the tree has never fruited.

Realizing the interesting thing, the family posted images of the coconut tree on social networks. In a short time, the post attracted thousands of views, comments and shares. Many people in the area also came to the place to witness this unique 4-top coconut tree with their own eyes.

According to local people, they rarely encounter cases of coconut trees developing with so many tops, even more special when the tree is more than ten years old but has not yet fruited.
