On August 15, Team K93, Political Department, An Giang Provincial Military Command said that the unit had just searched and collected 1 set of remains of martyrs during the anti-American resistance war in Phu Thuan hamlet, Nhon Hoi commune, An Giang province.
According to Team K93, the search was carried out on August 13, 2026, based on reviewing records and information provided by relatives and conducting field surveys in the area suspected of having martyrs' graves.
According to archives, martyr Nguyen Van Minh, alias Quang, born in 1945, native of Tan An commune, Phu Chau district, An Giang province; rank of Corporal, Phu Chau district Military unit. After sacrifice, the martyr was buried in Phu Thuan hamlet area, now belonging to Nhon Hoi commune.
For many years, the martyr's family has persistently searched for the grave. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, grandson of martyr Nguyen Van Minh, has found the related documents and records, and at the same time went to the locality to meet people and witnesses to collect information about the martyr's burial place.

Implementing the 500 days and nights Campaign to promote the search, repatriation, and identification of martyrs' remains, Team K93 has strengthened the review of dossiers, received and verified sources of information about martyrs and martyrs' graves. From family information, combined with archival documents and local people's accounts, the unit organized many surveys, cordoning off suspected graves. The location of discovery is consistent with many information that the unit had verified before.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Xuyen, Team Leader of Team K93, said: "The unit determines that every piece of information, even small ones, must be carefully reviewed and verified, because the longer the time, the more the traces of terrain and witnesses fade away. In the case of martyr Nguyen Van Minh, based on the information provided by the family, we coordinated with the local authorities and people to survey and compare many times before organizing the search. Today's results are a motivation for officers and soldiers to continue to strive and be determined to search for and repatriate the remaining martyrs in the area.
After many years of longing to find his relative's grave, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, grandson of martyr Nguyen Van Minh, emotionally said: "The family has been searching for his grave for many years but has not had results. When we were informed that Team K93 had found the remains in the area where the family and people provided information, we were very touched. This is something the family has been waiting for for a long time. The family is very grateful to the officers and soldiers of Team K93, local authorities and people for their dedicated support in the search process.
To date, Team K93 has searched and collected 12 sets of remains of martyrs in this phase. The unit continues to coordinate with Party committees, authorities, veterans, witnesses and people to promote information collection, verification, and expand search areas, contributing to the effective implementation of the 500-day and night campaign, and soon bringing the remaining martyrs back to their comrades, homeland and families.
