ACV starts construction of many packages at Long Thanh airport
On November 9, according to information from Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), many important packages at the Long Thanh airport project in Long Thanh district have continued to be started.
Package 4.7 for construction and installation of equipment for the aircraft parking lot and other works was started on September 20, 2024 and is expected to be completed on August 11, 2026.
This Package 4.7 (worth about 6,368 billion VND), includes 64 parking positions with an area of over 96 hectares, construction of a waiting taxiway with an area of over 18 hectares, construction of 2 parking lots for ground service vehicles with an area of over 2 hectares, 1 yard for the main emergency fire station with an area of nearly 1 hectare, and a system of airport service roads with a total road surface area of over 141,143 m2.
Similarly, package 4.9 for construction and installation of aircraft fuel supply system equipment was also started by ACV on October 25, 2024, with a construction period of 600 days (expected completion date June 17, 2026).
This package (worth about 3,287 billion VND) constructs an aircraft fuel station with a capacity of 5,200 m3/day and 6 floating fuel tanks with a capacity of 6,000 m3/tank.
The pipeline system is arranged underground to the aircraft refueling locations and has calculated and planned waiting points to receive fuel by underground pipeline from the outside.
On October 25, 2024, ACV organized the groundbreaking ceremony for package 2.10 to construct the Long Thanh airport fence project with an area of 5,000 hectares with an implementation time of 360 days (expected completion date October 25, 2025).
Currently, the contractors of these 3 packages are urgently deploying the work of assembling materials, equipment and camps to carry out construction according to the contract schedule.
Determined to complete the bid packages before August 31, 2026
In addition to the packages that started construction in September 2024 and October 2024, package No. 4.8 (worth about VND 11,440 billion) for construction, equipment installation, and design of construction drawings for internal port traffic works and airport technical infrastructure was also approved by ACV for contractor selection results on October 25, 2024, with the package implementation period being 685 days.
As for the remaining package 7.8 of cargo terminal No. 1 and package 11.5 of parking garage combined with non-aviation services, ACV has built a schedule and is determined to complete them before August 31, 2026.
For the packages under construction, package 5.10 for construction and installation of equipment for the passenger terminal project started on August 31, 2023. To date, the actual construction volume value has reached about VND 10,110 billion, equivalent to 30.47% of the contract value (VND 33,185 billion).
Package 4.6 construction, equipment installation and design of construction drawings for runways, taxiways and aircraft parking lots, up to now, the actual construction volume value has reached more than 3,059 billion VND, equivalent to 42.23% of the contract value (more than 7,244 billion VND).
Package 6.12 construction and design of construction drawings for the traffic system connecting Line 1 and Line 2. Up to now, the actual construction volume value has reached more than 1,321 billion VND, equivalent to 55.3% of the contract value (2,388.6 billion VND).
The drainage leveling items of package 3.4 have been basically completed.
At the working session with the delegation of the National Assembly's Economic Committee on November 2, Mr. Nguyen Tien Viet - Deputy General Director in charge of ACV said that ACV is determined to complete and put Long Thanh airport into operation in 2026.
