On November 7, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee held a working session on planning the underground pipeline supplying fuel from the upstream warehouse of Go Dau port to Long Thanh airport (Long Thanh district).
According to the planning, the Jet A-1 underground pipeline is about 22km long, consisting of 9 sections with 2 steel pipes placed in parallel, 0.5m apart.
The depth of buried pipe is 2m from the existing cross-section.
Of the total length of the underground pipeline, 16km runs outside the boundary of Long Thanh airport and 6km runs within the airport construction area.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vo Tan Duc - Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee said that Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 is expected to be put into operation in September 2026. Therefore, the construction of an underground pipeline to supply fuel for airport operations is very urgent.
Currently, comparing the underground pipeline construction planning with the land use planning of Long Thanh district until 2030, there are some locations on the route that are being planned for rural residential land and commercial service land.
Therefore, Mr. Vo Tan Duc - Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee requested Long Thanh District People's Committee and Department of Natural Resources and Environment to guide the consulting unit and the project proposal unit, PetroVietnam Oil Joint Stock Corporation (PVOil), to adjust the land use planning to ensure strictness and conformity with all types of planning to facilitate land recovery and site clearance.
The Department of Construction presides over and coordinates with the People's Committee of Long Thanh district to guide the consulting unit to review and adjust the pipeline construction plan to match the general planning of Long An commune, Tan Hiep commune, Long Phuoc commune, Phuoc Thai commune in Long Thanh district and the detailed planning of Go Dau Industrial Park.
After the route plan is adjusted to suit the planning, the Department of Construction will synthesize and advise the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to consult with specialized units of the Ministry of Transport and Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) on the implementation policy.
This content needs to be completed soon in November 2024, to be submitted to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and approval at the end of 2024 session.
