According to a report from the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, from March 29 to the morning of March 30, heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area injured 3 people. Among them, a sanitation worker who was performing environmental sanitation duties was hit by a large green tree suddenly falling due to strong gusts of wind, causing injury.
In particular, on provincial road 174 in Trung Tam ward, a large tree fell onto the road, damaging cars of road users.

According to local people, it has been a long time since they saw such a big thunderstorm. The weather was sunny, suddenly a thunderstorm suddenly came, making everyone unable to react in time.
Natural disasters also damaged 4,166 houses; 5.6 hectares of crops, industrial crops, and fruit trees were damaged. In addition, 7 schools and 2 cultural houses had their roofs blown off.
Total estimated damage is about 25.6 billion VND.

To urgently overcome the consequences of thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, the Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requested localities to quickly review damage, mobilize forces to support people, especially households with roofs blown off; and promptly implement policies to support housing and production.
Currently, the work of overcoming the consequences is being actively implemented by localities; and at the same time, continuing to monitor and statistically assess damage caused by thunderstorms.
