On the morning of March 30, the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031, held the first meeting to consolidate the key personnel apparatus of the City People's Council and People's Committee and elect People's Assessors of the People's Court according to regulations.
At the meeting, with 100% of the votes in favor, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council elected Mr. Vo Van Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for the term 2021 - 2026 to continue to hold the position of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for the term 2026 - 2031.
Mr. Vo Van Minh was born in 1972, from Binh Duong province (now Ho Chi Minh City). He holds a Master's degree in Economics, Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Law, Bachelor of Politics, Senior in Political Theory.
Before taking office in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Vo Van Minh had many years of work and held key leadership positions in Binh Duong province before, such as: Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of Di An Town People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Council.
From July 2021, he was elected to hold the position of Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee.
On July 1, 2025, after Ho Chi Minh City merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Mr. Vo Van Minh was appointed Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.
Currently, Mr. Vo Van Minh is a member of the 14th Party Central Committee, a National Assembly deputy of the 16th term, and a delegate of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031.
