At noon on July 12, a thunderstorm accompanied by heavy rain occurred in many wards and communes in the eastern area of Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, in Ba Ria ward (Ho Chi Minh City), a situation was recorded where some large trees were uprooted and fell. There were cases where trees fell and crushed cars in traffic, causing damage.
Accordingly, at about 11:15 am, a car was traveling on Nguyen Tat Thanh street in the direction from Truong Chinh to Dien Bien Phu, when it approached the intersection with Cach Mang Thang Tam street, it suddenly encountered a thunderstorm, causing a large tree tens of meters high to be uprooted and fall across the vehicle. Fortunately, there were no casualties but only vehicle damage. This tree also blocked the road, making many other vehicles unable to travel.
In addition, on Dien Bien Phu street (section near Ba Ria Square), a situation of large trees uprooting and falling across the road also occurred. Although it did not cause damage, it also obstructed traffic through the area.
Currently, functional forces of Ba Ria ward are urgently overcoming the incidents of fallen trees blocking the road to restore traffic, and at the same time proceed to handle the incident according to regulations.
