On May 6, the Steering Committee for Civil Defense of Nghe An province said that from the afternoon of May 3 to May 4, many localities in the province experienced thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail, causing heavy damage to housing, agricultural production and infrastructure.
According to updated statistics, the whole province has 980 houses with roofs blown off and damaged due to storms and tornadoes. Among them, 1 house was damaged by over 70%, 20 houses were damaged from 50-70%, 9 houses were damaged from 30-50% and hundreds of houses were affected to varying degrees.

Many residential areas recorded the situation of fallen green trees, corrugated iron roofs being blown away, barns and auxiliary works damaged after prolonged thunderstorms.
Notably, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning caused the honey tank of Song Lam Sugar Joint Stock Company to break in Nhan Hoa commune, causing about 2,000 tons of honey to spill out.

Tornadoes also caused heavy damage to agricultural production with more than 8,284 hectares of rice affected, of which nearly 2,820 hectares were damaged by over 70%. In addition, about 867 hectares of corn and sesame; 62 hectares of vegetables and more than 414 hectares of acacia were damaged.
In the fields of animal husbandry and aquaculture, natural disasters damaged 365 livestock facilities, causing damage to 19 fish cages with about 8.6 tons of fish in Anh Son commune.

Many traffic, irrigation, school and health station projects were also landslides, roofs were blown off or equipment was damaged. Initial statistics show that 28 low-voltage power poles were broken, 160m of electric wires were burned and broken, and many solar and base broadcasting systems were damaged.
Immediately after the natural disaster, local authorities and functional forces urgently supported people to overcome the consequences, clear fallen trees, repair houses and review areas at risk of unsafety.
