On August 20, information from the People's Committee of Pleiku City, Gia Lai province said that the key project Nguyen Van Linh Street is facing difficulties and problems with site clearance compensation, so contractors are temporarily suspending construction activities. .
The Nguyen Van Linh street project is considered a driving and key project of the city with a total investment of 260 billion VND. When completed, the road project will be an important traffic axis connecting the East - West axis in the southern area of Pleiku city, promoting economic development of the city and Gia Lai province.
When completing the road, Gia Lai continues to plan into a residential area on Nguyen Van Linh street with a scale of nearly 40 hectares, with a total investment of more than 2,100 billion VND.
However, currently the road project is still unfinished, contractors have stopped construction activities, and workers are absent from the construction site. The concrete bridge across the Hoi Phu stream source had to be demolished, and the concrete mixing plant stopped operating for a long time.
From the beginning of 2024 until now, the Nguyen Van Linh Street project has been stagnant and not making progress, due to some households not agreeing with the site clearance compensation price, thinking that the state compensation price low compared to market price.
Mr. Ho Tan Cong (61 years old) has a plot of land of 500 square meters and a 4-level house where his family lives. The investor set a compensation price of 2.5 billion VND for Mr. Cong's real estate. Mr. Cong said that this level is only half of the current real estate transaction price on the market.
"People are very supportive of the government's policy of opening roads, but it is necessary to recalculate the compensation level so that people can move to a new place that is better than the old one," Mr. Cong said.
To date, the Pleiku City Land Fund Development Center has submitted to the City People's Committee for approval a compensation and support plan in 11 installments with a recovery area of over 112,500 m2, with a total approved compensation value of more than 483.5 billion. copper. Currently, 191/199 plots of land have been handed over.
Through the process of propaganda, advocacy and explanation by the Pleiku City Land Fund Development Center, many households have agreed to receive compensation and hand over clean land for the project. However, there are still many households who have not agreed with the level of compensation and support according to state policies, causing difficulties for construction activities.
Pleiku City People's Committee determined that site clearance work will face many difficulties. During the implementation process, there will be other opinions, it is impossible to reach absolute consensus.
