On May 26, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the Thach Bich Green Park Project; resolve obstacles in compensation and site clearance of the project.
The Thach Bich Green Park project in Nghia Lo ward is invested by the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board. The project has a total investment of 900 billion VND from the provincial budget, with a scale of about 8.1ha.
Items include: Phan Boi Chau road (extended) 266m long; green park, water square, children's playground, sports area, parking lot... The project is implemented in the period 2025 - 2028.
Reporting on the project progress, the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that so far, the project has completed the selection of consulting units to prepare construction drawing designs, estimates and is completing dossiers to submit for appraisal and approval.
The Provincial Land Fund Development Center has inventoried and surveyed land and assets attached to land of 223 land plots/296 households and individuals. For 54 land plots of organizations, of which 37 cemetery land plots have been inventoried, measured, mapped and staked to serve the relocation of graves...
However, the project currently faces many difficulties and obstacles related to land, site clearance, compensation and resettlement.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang acknowledged the efforts of the investor and departments, branches, and units in the project implementation process.
He requested departments, branches, units, and localities to continue to coordinate in reviewing and verifying land plots of unclear origin; develop compensation plans for cemetery areas and agricultural land that have not been compensated.
At the same time, it should be noted that compensation and site clearance work needs to be flexible, building many plans suitable for each specific group, meeting the immediate needs of people in order to create consensus in the project implementation process.
Localities continue to mobilize households that have received compensation, support and resettlement to urgently dismantle, clean up crops, and hand over land to implement the project. For cases of disagreement, implement coercive measures according to regulations.
The Provincial Land Fund Development Center and the resettlement project investor urgently remove obstacles in the work of recovering and changing land use purposes for the remaining areas to serve resettlement for the project.
The Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board urgently completes the design dossier; researches a plan to expand the parking area; selects contractors, and accelerates site access.
For 30 years living in suspended planning, 160 households in residential group 6 (Le Hong Phong ward, Quang Ngai city) have been waiting anxiously for the Thach Bich Green Park Project to be implemented to escape temporary living. Decades of living in suspended planning have caused people's lives many difficulties, houses are degraded and dilapidated but not repaired, rebuilt or separated.
