In the afternoon of April 19, through monitoring satellite cloud images, weather radar and lightning and thunderstorm positioning data, thunderstorms are developing and causing showers with thunderstorms and lightning in many areas of Vinh Long, Dong Thap, Tay Ninh and Lam Dong provinces. Some points recorded strong radar responses, showing quite high thunderstorm intensity.
In the next 0-3 hours, thunderstorms will continue to develop, maintain showers with thunderstorms and lightning in the above areas, and at the same time tend to expand to neighboring areas. Common rainfall is from 2-15 mm, in some places over 20 mm.
During thunderstorms, it is necessary to be wary of dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind at level 5-8 (8-21 m/s). Localized heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas.
Weather pattern forecast for the next 24-48 hours, the hot low pressure area in the West shows no signs of strengthening activity in the next 48 hours.
However, from April 20, this system will develop again and tend to connect with a low pressure trough with an axis of about 22-25 degrees North latitude. Above, subtropical high pressure with an axis passing through the South Central Coast - Southern region is not operating strongly. Meanwhile, easterly wind disturbances at high altitude tend to gradually increase in activity.
Forecast from April 20, the hot low pressure area in the West will develop strongly again, gradually expanding to the Southeast. The upper subtropical high pressure, with its axis through the South Central region, is weak in the early days, then from about April 22 it will strengthen and shift its axis to the North, passing through the Central Central region. East wind disturbances at high altitudes maintain weak intensity until about April 20, then continue to weaken.
Therefore, from tomorrow (April 20), light showers are still likely to appear scattered in some places. Around April 22, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and the South will have intense heat again.
