On December 14, news from Project Management Board 7 (Ministry of Construction) said that the State Inspection Council on construction acceptance has inspected the remaining 13km of the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project.
The inspected section extends from the entrance of Co Ma tunnel, Dai Lanh commune, to the intersection of Van Ninh commune, Khanh Hoa province.
Currently, relevant units are completing the handover procedures in accordance with regulations, as a basis for putting this section into operation.
After the final 13km is opened to traffic, the entire 83.35km Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway will be officially completed. Previously, 70.3km of the project was put into operation from April 19.

Regarding infrastructure to serve traffic participants, the rest stop on the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway is expected to be put into operation in March 2026.
While waiting for completion, the authorities have arranged temporary rest stops to meet the needs of people and vehicles traveling on the route.
When the last 13km is opened to traffic, during the upcoming New Year and Lunar New Year, people and tourists can continuously travel from Ho Chi Minh City to the southern gateway of Co Ma tunnel, in Dai Lanh commune, through the completed expressway system including: Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, Dau Giay - Phan Thiet, Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, Cam Lam - Vinh Hao, Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Van Phong - Nha Trang.
The completion and operation of the entire Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway not only helps reduce traffic pressure on National Highway 1 but also creates favorable conditions for goods transportation, regional connectivity, forming new urban chains, industrial parks, and service areas along the route, thereby promoting the development of Van Phong Economic Zone.
The Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project has a total investment of more than 11,808 billion VND, started in January 2023 and is directly connected to the Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway. The opening of the entire route is also a practical activity to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress.
