On September 12, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang - Chairman of the Education Trade Union of Quang Tri province said that the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province coordinated with the Education Trade Union of Quang Tri province to launch a campaign to support people in the northern provinces to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang, Quang Tri province in general and the local education sector in particular have gone through long nights of pouring rain, storms on storms, floods on floods, so they understand the difficulties and hardships of people in the northern provinces affected by natural disasters.
Therefore, the Education Department of Quang Tri province calls on educational institutions, civil servants, public employees, workers and students in the whole sector to join hands to share and support people, cadres, teachers, staff and students in the northern provinces who suffered damage caused by storms and floods.
At the launching ceremony organized by the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province and the Education Trade Union of Quang Tri province, about 70 million VND was initially raised.
Responding to this call, schools in Quang Tri province simultaneously sent an open letter about stopping recreational activities and instead heading towards the flood area.
For example, Dong Thanh Primary School (Dong Ha City) had prepared to organize a special "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" program for students with many activities. However, in the spirit of "mutual love", the school announced to stop organizing this program. Instead, the school will carry out appropriate activities in each class, educating students about the spirit of "helping each other". In particular, on September 13, the school spent the first 15 minutes of class to mobilize donations and support the northern region affected by Typhoon Yagi.
Similarly, Phan Dinh Phung Secondary School (Dong Ha city) also postponed the lantern making contest, food display contest and art performances on September 16, instead organizing a donation program to help flood-affected people in the North overcome difficulties.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province, on September 11, the unit launched a fundraising campaign to support the northern provinces affected by storm No. 3, raising more than 4 billion VND.
"Currently, many individuals and organizations have responded to support money and necessities to send to support people in the northern provinces affected by floods" - Mr. Le Hong Son - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province informed.
