Houses that send hope
Son La is a province with more than 274km of border bordering Laos, with strongly cut-off terrain, and the lives of ethnic minorities still face many difficulties. Many households in the border area still have to live in temporary houses with leaky roofs and unsafe roads when the rainy and stormy season comes.
The Border Guard of Son La province has clearly identified an important part of the task, not only firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the national border, but also contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people, especially in supporting the elimination of temporary and leaky houses.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Colonel Vu Duc Tu - Deputy Political Commissar of the Son La Provincial Border Guard - said that up to now, the Provincial Border Guard has sent over 570 officers and soldiers, 70 vehicles to support the transportation of construction materials, organized over 50 working days of the army and mobilized social resources to participate in repairing and building 180 new houses for households in the border area of the province.
The Provincial Border Guard Command (BDBP) also launched a movement to mobilize commanders to promote their personal responsibility, prestige and connection to seek and call for socialized sources, support additional funding, and determined that each unit will eliminate at least one temporary house for the people.

Lieutenant Cam Van Thua, captain of the mass mobilization team - Muong Leo Border Station - Son La Border Guard - said that in a short time, the unit mobilized more than 50 cadres and soldiers directly to the villages, join hands to help people build new houses and repair houses, contributing to erasing temporary houses for 12 poor households. It is not only the support by working day and material but also the affectionate of the people of the people, the spirit of "because the people serve" is realized by each brick, each beat in the middle of the mountains.
The spacious new house has just been completed in Huoi strange village, Muong Leo commune, Sop Cop district, Son La province, which is the result of the contribution and materials of Muong Leo Border Station and local authorities. The owner of the house - Mr. Vang A against, the Mong people moved: "My old house rains everywhere, the cold season is the wind, the couple of children and children lying and lying and sleeping. Now there is a new house, I am grateful to the army.
Each house built has its own story, a piece of life written with love. Major Vi Van Thich, Captain of the Mass Mobilization Team - Phieng Pan Border Guard Station - Son La Border Guard - said that recently, officers and soldiers of the unit have accompanied 49 households in especially difficult circumstances in Phieng Pan commune to build new houses.
More than 260 working days have been contributed by officers and soldiers. They directly participate in building houses, transporting materials, leveling floors, roofing... contributing to bringing spacious and sturdy shelters to people in border areas.

Difficulties do not slow down
Major Vi Van Thich - Captain of the Mass Mobilization Team, Phieng Pan Border Guard Station - who also directly participated in building houses for the people - shared: "For us, building houses is not only about protecting against the sun and rain, but also contributes to arousing faith in life. When the roof is solid, people's hearts will be at peace. Only when we settle down can we focus on doing business, studying and together maintaining the border".
According to this major, there are villages so far that it takes a person to walk dozens of kilometers to get there. The road is slippery, the rocky slope, and in some places only the dams can cross.
Sometimes, the soldiers must take advantage of the available materials of the people such as bamboo, forest wood ... to keep up the construction progress before the rainy season. Yet no one lamented. Even, once the house had just poured the foundation, the rain poured down, the land was soaked, the effort poured the river. But the brothers started again from the beginning, not discouraged.
It is such arduous moments that tighten the gratitude of the people. Because in the eyes of the upland people, the border guards are not only land holders, heaven, but also relatives - those who silently make a great thing in the mountains.
For officers and soldiers of the Son La Provincial Border Guard, each completed house is not only a assigned task, but a joy, a maturity in the military journey. Many young soldiers shared that it was the days of eating and sleeping with the people and sharing hardship that helped them deeply understand what "the army with the people is like fish with water".
Amidst the thousands of green forests, the sound of the hammer, the sound of the wooden wood, mixed with the clear laughter from new houses as a lively affirmation for the affection of the people and the people with glue. There, not only the houses were erected, but also the gratitude was cultivated. Each home is the crystallization of kindness and love of love from the bottle hands of the soldier, silently sowing hope between the thousands of Northwest.
