On February 13, according to Lao Dong, a working group of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee worked with Xin Man district on a plan to relocate Coc Pai town due to the high risk of landslides.
According to research, Coc Pai town recorded 16 large and small landslides. Of which, 13 are active or re-active. In particular, the landslides at the stadium and the district administrative area are 350 - 500m long, 150 - 200m wide, and 12 - 18m deep.
Large landslides developed over an area of nearly 2km, from Vu Khi village through the administrative center to Coc Coc village. In terms of landslide risk zoning, 57.87% of the area is assessed as having very high and high risk, 26.35% of the area is at medium risk and only 15.78% of the area is at low risk.

The area of high and very high landslide risk covers an area of about 2.39 km2, potentially affecting 1,012/1,704 structures, 15.37/24.87 km of roads and 1,041 households with 3,845 people.
Xin Man district proposed to the province to relocate and resettle households in dangerous areas, initially 44 households. The implementation location is in Na Pan village, 6km from Coc Pai town center.
Regarding long-term solutions, there needs to be a project to move the center of Xin Man district. It is expected that there are some locations that can be planned and built as new district centers.
The first location, with an area of 398 hectares, includes a part of the area belonging to Xin Man, Quan Din Ngai, Lao Po villages, Xin Man commune and an expansion of a part of the area belonging to Khau Tinh village, Then Phang commune and Ho Sao Chai village, Chi Ca commune. The second location, in Hau Cau village, Xin Man commune, with an area of 248 hectares.
The leaders of Ha Giang province requested relevant agencies to determine the location for the construction of the new Xin Man district center in accordance with the planning. The construction plan and selection of the new location for the Xin Man district center must be completed and reported to the Government and the National Assembly in 2025.
