Widespread rain appeared at rush hour on September 22, causing a series of roads in Ho Chi Minh City to be deeply flooded, traffic disrupted and people's lives encountered many difficulties.
At about 6:30 pm, at flood hotspots such as Phan Huy Ich, Nguyen Van Khoi, To Ngoc Van, Quoc Huong... water was flooded about 30-50 cm deep.
A series of motorbikes stalled when moving through deep flooded areas, people had to struggle to push their vehicles through the water in the rain. The roads around the flooded area also quickly fell into serious traffic jams, with traffic flow stretching for kilometers.
Traffic police and drainage staff were present at key intersections to divert traffic, support people to move through flooded areas and collect garbage at sewer mouths to speed up drainage speed.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in the next 3 hours, convective clouds will continue to develop, causing showers and thunderstorms in many wards and communes. Common rainfall is 8-40 mm, in some places over 50 mm.
