Joint ventures of contractors are required to urgently overcome
On October 29, Mr. Hoang Van Khanh, Head of the Infrastructure Project Management Board - Khanh Hoa Economic Zone and Industrial Park Management Board, confirmed that he had requested the contractor consortium to urgently warranty the Van Phong International Transit Port Road Project (phase 1).
According to Mr. Khanh, the project starts at Km14 of Dam Mon route, the end point is adjacent to Dam Mon Border Guard Station and Van Phong International Transit Port.
The project started in October 2022, completed and put into use in December 2024, with a total length of more than 5.2km, and a total investment of more than 266 billion VND.
However, after nearly a year of operation, many sections of the road have degraded and appeared severely damaged, making traffic difficult, and there have even been many serious traffic accidents.

Contractor confirms cause of overloaded vehicles
Mr. Le Thuan Doan, representative of Khanh Hoa Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company - the project construction unit - said that since the route was put into use, the company has repeatedly reported to the authorities (including the investor, local authorities and the Provincial Police) about the frequent situation of overloaded vehicles on the route.
"We have had images and clips recording the scene of convoys of vehicles carrying acacia wood, sand, sails, construction materials... expanding boxes, covering license plates, traveling at high speed day and night, especially towards Van Phong Port", said Mr. Doan.

According to the company's report, many sections of the route have been seriously damaged, including: Km0+800 ÷ Km1+340 (right of route); Km0+000 ÷ Km1+460 (left of route); Km3+820 ÷ Km4+160 (right of route); culvert No. 01, Intersection No. 01 and Intersection No. 02".
The damage occurred mainly due to vehicles exceeding the permitted load, deforming the road surface, affecting the foundation structure of the project.
"This behavior not only causes great damage to warranty and repair costs but also seriously threatens traffic safety, people's lives and the reputation of the construction unit," the company representative emphasized.
Statistics from the contractor show that from September 28 to October 22, 2025, in just 9pm - 11pm, the route outside Van Phong International Transit Port had 10 serious traffic accidents, causing great damage to people and property.
The initial cause was determined to be largely due to sand trucks, many of which were overloaded, ran at high speeds and dropped materials on the road.
