Previously, at around 2:18 p.m. on September 1, at km368+300 of the Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway (in Dong Be village, Dien Tho commune, Khanh Hoa province), a passenger car with license plate 36H-097.XX driven by driver Le Ngoc Hai (born in 1972, residing in Thanh Hoa province) was traveling in the direction from Nha Trang to Van Phong.
At this time, a passenger bus suddenly had a truck with license plate 75C-085.XX driven by Duong Viet Nhon (born in 1984, residing in Hue) hit the back of the bus. At this time, there were 22 passengers on the bus.
Upon receiving the report, Traffic Police Team No. 7 was present at the scene, coordinating with functional units to rescue the victims; at the same time, guiding, regulating, dividing traffic, and protecting the scene.
The scene of the sudden collision caused the rear of the passenger bus to deform, the windshield to break, and the front of the truck to be distorted.
After that, the 115 Emergency Center, after being present, urgently classified, assessed, gave first aid, stabilized the condition and quickly took the 13 victims to the Emergency Department - Khanh Hoa General Hospital.
After examination, the cases of minor injuries were discharged from the hospital. Currently, 2 passengers from Thanh Hoa were seriously injured and are still being treated at Khanh Hoa General Hospital.
Initially, Traffic Police Team No. 7 conducted an alcohol and drug test of the two drivers involved, the results showed that the two drivers did not violate.
The initial cause was determined to be that driver Duong Viet Nhon was driving a truck with license plate 75C-08501 without keeping a safe distance, causing a traffic accident.
