Efforts in localities
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Ea Kar district, the district has 7 communes meeting new rural standards including: Ea O, Cu Ni, Ea Tih, Ea Lar, Ea Kmat, Cu Hue and Xuan Phu commune. Ea Pan commune alone has met 19/19 criteria and is waiting for competent authorities to recognize it as meeting new rural standards.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Dang - Vice Chairman of Ea Pan Commune People's Committee said: "five years ago, the area still had many difficulties, the roads had not been upgraded, the rate of poor and near-poor households was still high. Up to now, the average income per capita of Ea Pan commune has reached over 51 million VND/person/year, the multidimensional poverty rate has decreased to below 7%".
According to Mr. Dang, in recent years, cadres, Party members and people of all ethnic groups in Ea Pal commune have united, strived, and gradually completed the criteria for building new rural areas. By March 2025, the commune had completed 19/19 criteria and is waiting for competent authorities to recognize it as meeting new rural standards.

"We have taken full advantage of resources to invest in building village halls, lighting systems, concrete for inter-village and hamlet roads, etc.
At the same time, integrate support sources from the national target program for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021 - 2025 to soon reach the new rural destination", Mr. Dang shared more.

Mr. Tran Van Dong - Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Phu commune (Ea Kar district) shared: "In 2022, the commune will be one of the localities in Ea Kar district that reached the new rural finish line. To date, the locality has 1,582 households. Of which, there are 43 poor households and 49 near-poor households.
When meeting new rural standards, some national target programs are no longer allocated, so communes have to mobilize many other resources for socio-economic development".

According to Mr. Dong, the entire political system of the commune has been making efforts to reduce the rate of poor and near-poor households. At the same time, focus on economic development and building advanced new rural areas.
To complete this goal, the commune is trying to upgrade and concreten more than 7km of inter-village roads. When completing this criterion, the commune will be eligible for recognition as an advanced new rural area.
Continuing sustainable poverty reduction
Mr. Tran Quang Trung - Chairman of Ea Kar District People's Committee said that in 2025, the district strives to reduce the multidimensional poverty rate by 2% or more; the rate of poor ethnic minority households will decrease by 3 to 4%, the rate of poor households in particularly disadvantaged communes will decrease by 6-8%.
The number of workers created jobs is about 3,000 people. In particular, the proportion of trained workers among the total number of workers working in the economy will reach 46% or more. Of which, the rate of workers with degrees and certificates is 41% or more.

According to Mr. Trung, in recent years, the People's Committees of communes and towns have promptly and creatively implemented good practices on poverty reduction policies and improved living conditions for people.
"Ea Kar district has directed communes to build new rural areas as a journey with a starting point but no end point. Communes must continuously develop, especially improve people's lives, continue to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty sustainably and effectively" - Chairman of Ea Kar District People's Committee Tran Quang Trung added.
