On the afternoon of June 2, the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision recognizing Phuoc Long district (Bac Lieu province) as meeting the advanced new rural standards in 2024.
Phuoc Long is the first district in Bac Lieu province, honored to be recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting the advanced new rural standards according to Decision No. 1004/QD-TTg dated May 26, 2025.

In the period of 2025 - 2030, Phuoc Long aims to continue to maintain 9/9 criteria of advanced new rural districts; maintain 100% of communes meeting model new rural standards. Strive to achieve an average income per capita of VND170 million/person/year by 2030; vocational training for 18,000 workers, job creation for 20,000 workers; people participating in health insurance to reach 98% or more; the multidimensional poverty rate remains below 1%.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Vice Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang emphasized that Phuoc Long district has had a favorable starting point as one of the district-level localities in the country that soon met the New Rural standards since 2017.
