Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the People's Committee of Tien Giang province to be responsible for announcing and rewarding according to regulations; continue to maintain and improve the quality of criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in new rural construction (NTM).
According to the report of Tien Giang province, after 5 years of building new rural areas, the whole Tien Giang province has 135/135 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 68 communes have met advanced new rural standards and 14 communes have met model new rural standards. 100% of district-level units (8 districts, 3 towns/cities) have completed the task of building new rural areas.
Infrastructure is invested synchronously, with 100% of communes having roads to the center being asphalted or concreted; the rate of hardening of commune and hamlet roads reaching over 85%.
Regarding the environment, the rate of collecting rural household waste is over 90%; 100% of communes have bright, green, clean and beautiful landscapes and environments.
Tien Giang province strives to maintain and improve the criteria for new rural areas (including new rural communes, advanced new rural communes, model new rural communes); have 7 more communes meeting the standards for advanced new rural communes and 7 communes meeting the standards for model new rural communes; average income per capita in rural areas reaches 85 to 85.5 million VND/person/year.
The rate of multidimensional poor households according to the NTM criteria is still below 0.74%; the rate of people participating in health insurance is 95% or more; the rate of people using clean water and hygienic water is 100%; the rate of waste collection and treatment in rural areas is 90% or more.
