It has been nearly 7 months (since May 21), when Ba Le bridge (Tam Vu street, Tan An ward, Can Tho city) suddenly collapsed due to dump trucks carrying overloaded construction materials passing through, but to date, the bridge has not been repaired.
The incident caused the iron bar along the left side to break, causing insecurity for vehicles and seriously affecting the lives and business of local people.

Mr. Pham Quang Loc, a resident living next to Tam Vu Street, said that the city and local authorities have repeatedly promised but have not yet taken any action to overcome the situation. The collapse of Ba Le bridge seriously affects people's travel and daily activities, many businesses are also facing difficulties.
"We hope the government will soon repair and complete it before Tet so that people can travel conveniently and celebrate a happy Tet. In particular, I propose that instead of building a traditional iron bridge, a box culvert bridge should be constructed, both ensuring safety and suitability with current traffic volume, said Mr. Pham Quang Loc.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh - Head of Group 12, Area 1, Tan An Ward - said that Ba Le Bridge was built about 60 years ago and had to be repaired many times during its use.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh, the people here hope that the authorities will soon start construction and complete the repair before Tet, to ensure traffic safety and convenience for travel during important holidays. This is an urgent issue that needs to be prioritized, demonstrating the responsibility of management agencies for the daily life of the community.
Not only do traffic participants feel inconvenienced, but also the vendors selling food next to Ba Le bridge are severely affected. According to them, the number of customers has decreased by about 1/3, making it difficult to deliver food. Many visitors reflected that, "there is a city center with a bridge like in the countryside".
According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, the collapse of the bridge caused many people to turn off to the Can Tho river embankment to cross to the other side of the road, leading to damage and breakage of the bricks on the embankment, posing a potential risk of accidents.

Previously, on December 5, the Department of Construction of Can Tho City issued Official Letter No. 3889 to the Department of Finance, the City Police, and the People's Committee of Cai Khe Ward regarding the early implementation of the construction of the project from the 2025 Traffic career capital of the People's Committee of Ninh Kieu District (old).
