On May 13, the working delegation of the National Assembly's Economic and Finance Committee worked with the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of resolutions on implementing the double-digit growth target for the period 2026-2030.
Reporting at the working session, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Standing Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - said that after the merger, Gia Lai has a very large development potential. The province sets a GRDP growth target for the 2026-2030 period of 10.5-11%, considering this an important requirement to avoid the risk of falling behind.
The province has developed plans, schemes and targets for the entire term; and assigned specific tasks to 135 communes and wards. On that basis, localities must clearly identify the strengths of each field to create growth momentum.

At the working session, Gia Lai province proposed that the working delegation study and submit to the Ministry of Finance to report to the Prime Minister to soon allocate central budget capital in 2026 for component project 2 of the Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway project.
To date, component projects 1 and 3 of the expressway have been started, accelerating the implementation progress. Component project 2 is completing technical design and selecting contractors to start construction in the second quarter of 2026.
The province also proposed to remove some obstacles related to the North-South High-Speed Railway project section passing through the area, after the project has been adjusted.
Gia Lai proposes to remove 4 fishing ports from the planning, including Quy Nhon Fishing Port, De Gi Fishing Port, Vinh Loi Fishing Port and Tan Phung Fishing Port. The province proposes to supplement the planning to expand Tam Quan Fishing Port with seafood capacity through the port increasing from 40,000 tons/year to 130,000 tons/year; expand the scale of storm shelter anchorage for Tam Quan fishing boats from 1,200 boats to 3,600 boats.

Propose that the Prime Minister direct ministries and sectors to study and amend and supplement laws, decrees and guiding documents in the direction of fully, specifically and synchronously regulating the mechanism for creating a clean land fund to serve land use rights auctions for production and business projects; consider and direct the Ministry of Finance to coordinate and guide localities to complete procedures to access and use ODA loans for 6 projects in priority order to promptly deploy investment and construction...
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Finance Committee Nguyen Huu Toan said that this survey is an opportunity to closely assess reality and clearly identify problems in the development process.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Toan highly appreciated the proactiveness and decisiveness of Gia Lai province in implementing socio-economic development tasks and solutions. In particular, the province's GRDP in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 8.5%, ranking first in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions, which is a "very impressive" result.
According to Mr. Toan, Gia Lai's double-digit growth target has a basis for implementation, but it also poses many challenges. Therefore, the locality needs to continue to promote growth drivers, especially in the fields of industry, construction, services, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Regarding the proposed contents, the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Finance Committee requested Gia Lai province to continue reviewing, supplementing, and completing so that the working group can summarize and report to competent authorities for consideration.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 12, the working delegation of the National Assembly's Economic and Finance Committee also surveyed the actual situation of the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway project.
