On May 11, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that it had directed departments, branches, and localities to strengthen measures to ensure security and safety, improve the quality of operations and the tourism environment in the area.
According to Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, in the past time, the province's tourism activities have had many positive changes, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
However, through grasping the situation, at some resorts, attractions, and beaches, there is a situation where individuals and organizations take advantage of the occasion of activities belonging to the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026 to profit.

Some cases of pre-booking hotel rooms and guesthouses and then reselling them to tourists at high prices to make a profit; "bait" activities at tourist areas and resorts are complicated.
There is also a situation of soliciting and forcing tourists to take photos, use food services, buy specialties, souvenirs; not listing prices, arbitrarily raising prices; trading in food that does not ensure food safety and hygiene... causing frustration for people and tourists, affecting the image of local tourism.
To rectify the above situation, especially during the peak summer tourism season and the series of events of the 2026 National Tourism Year, leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, and localities to guide organizations and individuals doing tourism business to strictly implement legal regulations, absolutely not to let the above-mentioned acts occur.
Business establishments must publicly list prices, sell at listed prices; do not hoard goods, speculate, arbitrarily increase prices unreasonably or force customers to use services.
Units must strictly comply with regulations on food safety and hygiene; ensure the safety of tourist transport vehicles, do not use vehicles that have not been registered, inspected or are not safe to serve tourists.
Leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant units to inspect and examine tourism business activities; strictly handle acts of coercion, "baiting", and soliciting causing trouble for tourists.
Assign the Provincial Police to deploy measures to ensure tourism security, ensuring absolute safety for events and activities belonging to the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026 and the summer tourism peak season.
Strengthen patrols and inspections at tourist areas and crowded areas to ensure traffic safety, public order, and urban order; promptly detect and handle acts of causing disturbances, scrambling, stalking, soliciting, and causing trouble to tourists. Publicize hotlines to receive and promptly handle feedback...
