Gia Lai - In a presentation sent to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Congress, Gia Lai emphasized the key role of mass mobilization in ethnic minority areas in consolidating the great national unity bloc.

The 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026-2031 with the theme "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Creativity - Development" took place from May 11 to 13 at the National Convention Center (Hanoi City), with more than 1,300 official delegates attending.

In the presentation sent to the Congress, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province focused on analyzing the results and experiences in propaganda and mobilization of ethnic minorities (DTTS), and at the same time proposed tasks and solutions for the new period.

Mass mobilization plays a key role

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province, propaganda and mobilization work for ethnic minorities plays a key role in bringing the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws into life. Thereby contributing to raising political awareness, promoting socio-economic development, consolidating people's trust, helping ethnic minorities eliminate backward customs and arouse the spirit of production emulation.

Over the past time, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has promoted propaganda, mobilization, and gathered all classes of people, creating consensus and social stability. With the motto "4 working days at the agency, 1 working day at the grassroots level", Front officials proactively stick to the area, grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people, promptly remove difficulties, and bring the resolutions of the Party and State into practice.

Gia Lai currently has 47 ethnic groups, with a population of more than 3.5 million people, of which more than 830,000 people are ethnic minorities, accounting for about 23.2%. The main ethnic groups include Jrai, Bahnar, Muong, Hre and some other ethnic groups.

The Fatherland Front at all levels has effectively implemented major movements and campaigns such as: "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized cities", "Changing the way of thinking and working among ethnic minorities to escape poverty sustainably", "Building new rural villages among ethnic minorities", "For the poor - Leaving no one behind", along with activities of the Great National Unity Festival and the All-People Border Guard Festival...

After the merger, Gia Lai became the 2nd largest province in the country, after Lam Dong. With a large area and uneven intellectual level, the Fatherland Front at all levels has promoted the role of village elders, prestigious people, religious dignitaries and the Front Work Committee in residential areas in propaganda and mobilization work.

Thanks to that, the awareness of ethnic minorities has been raised; many backward customs have been eliminated, and vigilance against distorted arguments has been strengthened. The great national unity bloc continues to be firmly consolidated.

In addition, poverty reduction work has achieved positive results, and the poverty rate has decreased year by year. To date, the whole province has 94/113 communes meeting new rural standards (83.1%), of which 35 communes meet advanced new rural standards and 4 communes meet model standards.

Orientation for the new stage

In the coming period, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province proposes to continue to effectively implement resolutions and strategies on ethnic affairs in the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045; strengthen innovation in content and methods of operation; promote the tradition of great national unity; strengthen and innovate mass mobilization work in ethnic minority areas...

At the same time, focus on enhancing the role of the team of reporters, propagandists, collaborators and core groups at the grassroots level and member organizations - forces playing a bridging role between the Party, government and people.

Fatherland Front Committees at all levels strengthen supervision and social criticism of ethnic policies, especially in the fields of poverty reduction, health, education, environment... Promote digital transformation, apply technology in propaganda work, promote the effectiveness of the Front's digital communication channels and closely coordinate with press and television agencies.

Focus on mobilizing and caring for ethnic minorities; effectively implement grassroots democracy; strengthen residential area solidarity, promote movements "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", "Sustainable poverty reduction" and self-management models, contributing to promoting family, clan, and local cultural values.
