On September 17, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that it has a plan to arrange and streamline organizations inside administrative agencies and public non-business units. Many units will be merged, consolidated, dissolved or transferred functions and tasks in 2026.
According to the plan, at the Department of Industry and Trade, the trade promotion function of the Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion Center is transferred to the Investment Promotion Center (Department of Finance); the function of the industrial promotion sector is transferred to the professional department under the Department.
The Investment Promotion Center (Department of Finance) also receives functions and tasks of tourism investment promotion from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This unit must develop a roadmap to self-ensure regular expenditures no later than 2027.
At the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, the Project Management Board and Site Clearance Board of the Economic Zone were merged into the Economic Zone Infrastructure Development Company; some functions and tasks were transferred to specialized departments and related units.
For units under the Department of Agriculture and Environment, it is required that the Agricultural Seed Center increase to self-ensure regular expenditures; if it cannot be implemented, it will be dissolved. The Domestic Plant Quarantine Station and the Dong Gia Lai Animal Quarantine Station are reorganized into administrative organizations equivalent to departments under sub-departments.
Dissolve the Animal Disease Diagnosis, Testing and Treatment Station, Veterinary Medicine Supplies Station and Fisheries Station, transfer functions to specialized departments under the sub-department. Dissolve the inter-commune irrigation station, transfer tasks to relevant commune-level People's Committees and irrigation works exploitation companies.
At the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Pleiku Museum will be merged into the Gia Lai Provincial Museum; the Pleiku Library will be merged into the Provincial Library. The two theaters will be merged into the Provincial Art Theater; 3 training, competition and martial arts centers will be merged into the Gia Lai Provincial Traditional Martial Arts and Sports Training and Competition Center.
Quang Trung Museum and the Provincial Cultural Center must increase the level of autonomy to self-ensure regular expenses; in case it cannot be implemented, it will continue to be arranged according to regulations.
For the Department of Health, the province will maintain 19 units, including general hospitals, specialized hospitals, specialized medical centers, social protection; arrange and reorganize multi-functional regional health centers in 2026.
Currently, specialized agencies and other administrative organizations under the Provincial People's Committee have 84 specialized departments and equivalents, 14 sub-departments and 83 departments and equivalents under the sub-department.
Regarding the internal organization of administrative agencies, the Department of Health advises on dissolving the Population Sub-Department and transferring functions and tasks to specialized departments under the Department.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment advises on reorganizing the Rural Development Sub-Department and the Irrigation Sub-Department into specialized departments under the Department; and at the same time decentralize and authorize the remaining sub-departments.
The Provincial People's Committee requests agencies and units to proactively develop plans and schemes for arrangement and submit them to competent authorities; continue to review and evaluate operational efficiency to arrange the organizational structure in a streamlined, efficient, effective, and efficient direction.
