On the evening of October 29, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area No. 6 (Department PC07, Quang Tri Provincial Police) said that the unit had brought 6 people trapped in Hieu Giang Commune (Quang Tri Province) to safety.
Previously, at 3:45 p.m. the same day, the unit received a report from Mr. Ho Van Cu about a group of people working in the cajuput forest being isolated due to floods. At the time of discovery, 6 people were trapped in a state of lack of food and drinking water.
Immediately after receiving the news, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area No. 1 and Area No. 6 mobilized 22 officers, soldiers and specialized vehicles to the scene, coordinating with Hieu Giang Commune Police to deploy canoes to approach the victim's location.
By 7:50 p.m. the same day, all 6 people had been taken to a safe area by the authorities.
