On September 21, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province said that it had requested project investors and People's Committees of communes and wards to strengthen mineral management in the area, especially minerals within the scope of construction projects.
Accordingly, during the construction process, if there is excess mineral content due to the excavation balance within the project scope, the investor must prepare a dossier to submit to the Provincial People's Committee (through the Department of Agriculture and Environment) for consideration of granting a certificate of mineral recovery registration.
In case of mineral discovery (in addition to excess minerals due to excavation balance), the project investor must report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision on whether to exploit or not to exploit.
For the volume of recovered minerals, priority will be given to the construction of public investment projects (clearly stating the name of the project, the volume and the specific implementation progress). The Provincial People's Committee strictly prohibits the exploitation and recovery of minerals that affect the progress of investment projects.
This is to prevent businesses from taking advantage of construction works to illegally exploit, profiteering minerals, and causing losses to the State budget.
After the merger, Gia Lai promoted key projects including: Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway Project; resettlement areas serving the North - South High-Speed Railway Project; North - South Expressway connection project to Phu My Industrial Park and Phu My Port; Cultural, sports and entertainment area 1 project combined with trade - services - tourism in Cat Tien commune; CK54; Urban area; Dak Doa Industrial Cluster; renewable energy projects...
The construction of these projects requires a large amount of minerals and common construction materials. Therefore, the province proactively closely monitors minerals within the construction scope.
