At noon on June 1, the Quang Tri Provincial Hydrometeorological Station said that since the morning of the same day, the mainland area has seen strong southwest winds of level 3-4, gusting to level 5. In coastal areas and coastal waters, strong winds of level 4-5 and gusts of level 6-7 were recorded.
Strong winds have caused some local damage, notably in Phu Thanh village (Mo O commune, Dakrong district), people set up a wedding tent on the concrete yard to hold a ceremony at noon on June 1. However, due to the strong wind from the night of May 31 to the early morning of June 1, the entire theater was broken by the wind, sweeping away many items.
The Quang Tri Provincial Hydrometeorological Station warns that the risk of natural disasters due to strong winds is level 1, and predicts that the estuary area may have waves 1-2m high, endangering ships operating along the coast and on rivers.
In the next 24 to 48 hours, the southwest wind will continue to maintain at level 3-4, gusting to level 5 on land; coastal and offshore areas may reach level 4-5, gusting to level 6-7. Localities are recommended to proactively take measures to ensure the safety of people and boats, especially in coastal areas and low-lying areas.
