Besides the scene of parents rushing to pick up their children, there are still cases of students and adults not fully complying with regulations when participating in traffic.
In Xuan Hoa ward, where many high schools are concentrated, at school dismissal time, students spread out from school gates to the surrounding roads. Some children drive electric bicycles and electric motorbikes but do not wear helmets or wear them but do not fasten straps. There are cases of carrying more friends behind, moving in groups on the road.
This situation was also recorded on Tung Thien Vuong, Pham The Hien streets (Binh Dong ward) at the time students finished school.
Notably, some students also drive motorbikes over 50cc (the type of vehicle that people who do not meet the regulations are not allowed to drive).
Hoang Lan, a student at a high school in Binh Dong ward, said that wearing helmets is regularly reminded by the school. However, according to her, some students still have a subjective mentality because the distance from home to school is short.
Teachers reminded me a lot, but some students thought it was near home or just a short distance, so they didn't wear a hat" - Hoang Lan said.
Not only students, a part of parents picking up and dropping off their children also does not pay attention to equipping children with helmets.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang, a parent in Binh Dong ward, said that many families with houses near schools or parents conveniently go to work and come home, so they stop by to pick up their children. Because they did not bring helmets for their children in advance, it was not until they were picked up that the situation of not having helmets to use arose.

According to the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, in order to ensure safety for students entering the new 2026-2027 school year, the unit is coordinating with educational institutions to implement solutions to ensure traffic order and safety in the "Peak Month of Traffic Safety for Schoolgoers" in September 2026.
In the school area, Ban Co Traffic Police Team coordinated with ward police to arrange forces to regulate, divert, and guide traffic, especially during peak hours, in order to limit congestion and ensure safe travel for students and parents.
Traffic Police Team No. 1 also implemented solutions to strengthen propaganda, guidance, inspection and handling of traffic violations related to students, focusing on errors such as not being old enough to drive motorbikes, not wearing helmets, carrying more people than allowed, running red lights, going against traffic, stopping and parking in violation of regulations and arbitrarily changing the structure of electric vehicles.
The Traffic Police force also inspects and handles the responsibility of parents in handing over vehicles to people who do not meet the conditions; coordinates with schools and local authorities to inspect students' vehicles and rectify the parking and keeping of motorbikes for students who do not meet the conditions to drive.
