Ha Tinh A 68-year-old man from Ha Tinh who has been wandering around in Cambodia for more than 30 years has just been supported by a kind young man to return home.

More than 30 years of wandering

On February 15, Mr. Le Quang Thung (75 years old, residing in Hong Lac village, Thach Chau commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province) excitedly shared that after decades of losing contact with his younger brother Le Quang Khoa (68 years old) in Cambodia, a few days ago, his younger brother was supported by a kind young man to return home, making his relatives extremely happy and moved.

Mr. Thung said that in the time of hunger, with a low education level, his younger brother passed the entrance exam to Agricultural University 2 in Bac Ninh, making his family, clan, and hometown very proud. However, while studying in his third year, Mr. Khoa suddenly got married and left school to make a living.

Through an acquaintance, around 1991, Mr. Khoa went to Cambodia to do business and lost contact with relatives from there. It was not until 2001 that Mr. Khoa sent a letter to his hometown saying that he was adopted by a family in Cambodia, and currently has a job and a good life. Since then, the family has lost contact with Mr. Khoa for 24 years.

Unexpected reunion

Mr. Le Van Trung (33 years old, living in Tay Ninh province) shared that on the 8th of the Lunar New Year, he went to Cambodia to work, then he went to a familiar house in the capital Phnom Penh to play.

Here, he saw a man in the same shape as a Vietnamese person sorting scrap, so he took the initiative to come and start a story, this person introduced himself as Le Quang Khoa (68 years old, from Ha Tinh province).

In the short conversation, Mr. Khoa appeared hidden at times remembering, at times forgetting, but at one point said that he really missed his hometown, wanted to return to his hometown but did not know how to return.

Saying goodbye to Mr. Khoa, Mr. Trung promised himself that he would try to contact him to help him find relatives and bring him back home.

After that, Mr. Trung posted information on social networks about needing to find relatives for Mr. Khoa who is wandering in Cambodia. That information was quickly widely shared, so Mr. Khoa's relatives contacted Mr. Trung to confirm the family and asked him to help bring Mr. Khoa back home.

On February 11, an older brother of Mr. Trung led Mr. Khoa from Phnom Penh to Moc Bai border gate and was waited by relatives and Mr. Trung to take him back to the country.

"Witnessing him return home to meet his relatives, I was very moved. I am also very happy to have connected and helped a person who has been missing for many years in a foreign country return to reunite with his family." - Mr. Trung shared.

After returning home, Mr. Khoa is currently temporarily staying at a relative's house in the South. According to the plan, in the next few days, Mr. Khoa will return to his hometown in Thach Chau commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province to meet relatives and neighbors after decades of separation and wandering in a foreign land due to an accident that made him angry.
