On February 6, the Immigration Department of Kien Giang Province Police said that it had recently coordinated with the Border Guard Station of Ha Tien International Border Gate to receive 24 Vietnamese citizens returned by Cambodia at milestone 313 of Ha Tien International Border Gate, Ha Tien City. These were cases of people who were tricked into going abroad to work illegally and were discovered, arrested and returned to Vietnam by Cambodian authorities.
According to initial verification results, this group of citizens came from many provinces and cities across the country, mostly young people, wishing to find jobs with high incomes. Taking advantage of this mentality, scammers used social networks to lure with attractive advertisements such as " light work, high salary", "no need for experience", "income thousands of dollars"...
After gaining trust, the victims were taken to Cambodia through unofficial or legal entry instructions through Cambodia. However, when they arrived, they discovered that they were forced to work in fraud establishments operated by foreigners. Not only were the victims closely monitored, they were also under heavy work pressure, threatened, and even assaulted if they did not complete the target or intended to escape.
Kien Giang Provincial Police advise people, especially young people, to be vigilant against unclear recruitment information on social networks. Before deciding to work abroad, it is necessary to clearly research information about the company, working environment and legal conditions. If there is any suspicion, you should contact the authorities for advice and avoid falling into the scam trap.
