At the end of March 2026, reporters' records at the project site to upgrade the road from Bao Nhai commune to Coc Ly showed that many items have been implemented, but the overall progress is still affected due to not having enough clean ground.
Mr. Giang Seo Cho (resident of Bao Nhai commune) shared that the road has been degraded for many years, making people's travel very difficult, especially in the rainy season. This is the nearest connecting route between the center of Bao Nhai commune and the Coc Ly area, serving hundreds of households of 5 villages along the route.
People hope that the project will be completed soon to make travel more convenient, contributing to economic development and poverty reduction.

Not only serving people's needs, the road also plays an important traffic axis, transporting agricultural products and goods, connecting production with the market, and at the same time serving tourism development in the hydropower lake area and Coc Ly highland cultural market.
Infrastructure degradation is becoming a "bottleneck", directly affecting the development of the locality.

According to research, the project has a total length of 5.909 km, divided into two sections. The section through the center of Bao Nhai commune is designed according to urban road standards, the roadbed is 13.5 m wide, the road surface is 7.5 m, with sidewalks on both sides; the remaining section is upgraded according to level V mountain road standards, ensuring technical requirements and traffic safety.
The total investment is 46.1 billion VND from the central budget under the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2022 - 2025, combined with the provincial budget.

Mr. Vi Manh Ha, official of the Bac Ha Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that so far the project has cleared about 60% of the entire route. However, some households have not agreed to receive compensation money because they believe that the unit price is still low, and request to be measured and reviewed the recovered land area.
According to Mr. Ha, the project was signed in 2023 and is expected to be completed on December 31, 2025. However, due to site and planning problems, the investor is requesting an extension of the implementation time in 2026 to continue implementation.
We really hope that the Bao Nhai commune government will coordinate in propaganda and site clearance to hand over to the contractor. When there is a site, units will increase manpower and machinery to accelerate construction and put the road into use soon," Mr. Ha added.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Tran Manh Cuong, Head of the Economic Department of Bao Nhai commune, said that some households have not agreed on the compensation unit price.
In the coming time, the locality will strengthen propaganda and explanation of legal regulations on site clearance, directly to each household to mobilize and create consensus. The goal is to basically resolve site problems in the second quarter of 2026 to hand over to the construction unit," Mr. Cuong said.

Removing the "bottleneck" of land is considered a key factor to accelerate the project progress.
When completed, the road will not only improve travel conditions for people but also contribute to completing rural transport infrastructure, expanding economic development space, and gradually improving the lives of people in mountainous areas.
