The People's Committee of Ha Giang province has just sent an official dispatch to the Prime Minister proposing to invest in the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway project (phase 2), from Tan Quang to Thanh Thuy international border gate under the form of public investment.
This section of the expressway is 58.5km long, designed according to the standards of a grade 100 expressway, speed of 100km/h, difficult terrain sections will apply a speed of 80km/h, with a scale of 4 lanes and a roadbed of 25.25m wide. The project has a total investment of 14,852 billion VND, using public investment capital.
Ha Giang province proposed to include the project in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030 to be implemented, completed and put into operation in 2028; at the same time, it requested support of VND 2,000 billion in 2025 to carry out compensation, site clearance and resettlement work.
The People's Committee of Ha Giang province believes that the investment in the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway (phase 2) will help promote the effectiveness of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway (phase 1 is under construction, expected to be completed by the end of this year), synchronously connecting with other expressways such as Noi Bai - Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho.
Investing in the construction of this expressway will also help promote the import and export of goods through Thanh Thuy international border gate. Currently, the transportation of goods from Vietnam to Thanh Thuy Border Gate has only one route, National Highway 2.
