National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man issued Resolution No. 1282/NQ-UBTVQH15 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Phu Tho province for the 2023-2025 period.
This Resolution comes into force from January 1, 2025.
The National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to establish three new communes in Cam Khe district, including Minh Thang, Phong Thinh, and Nhat Tien. Newly establish Tan Phu town in Tan Son district.
Accordingly, Minh Thang commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 8.91 km2, population of 9,268 people of Tuy Loc commune, the entire natural area of 4.92 km2, population of 7,944 people of Ngo Xa commune and the entire natural area of 5.07 km2, population of 3,958 people of Thuy Lieu commune.
After its establishment, Minh Thang commune had a natural area of 18.90 km2 and a population of 21,170 people.
Minh Thang commune borders Minh Tan, Phuong Vi, Tam Son, Tien Luong, Van Ban communes and Ha Hoa district.
Phong Thinh commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 8.21 km2 and a population of 5,006 people of Cap Dan commune, the entire natural area of 5.75 km2 and a population of 3,727 people of Xuong Thinh commune and the entire natural area of 8.39 km2 and a population of 5,877 people of Son Tinh commune.
After its establishment, Phong Thinh commune had a natural area of 22.35 km2 and a population of 14,610 people.
Phong Thinh commune borders Huong Lung, Phu Khe, Tung Khe, Van Ban communes and Cam Khe town.
Establish Nhat Tien commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of 4.19 km2, population of 4,466 people of Phu Lac commune, the entire natural area of 7.71 km2, population of 3,594 people of Chuong Xa commune and the entire natural area of 9.55 km2, population of 5,637 people of Van Khuc commune.
After its establishment, Nhat Tien commune had a natural area of 21.45 km2 and a population of 13,697 people.
Nhat Tien commune borders Hung Viet, Huong Lung, Phu Khe, Yen Duong communes; Thanh Ba district and Yen Lap district.
Tan Phu town (Tan Son district) was established on the basis of the entire natural area of 20.87 km2 and population of 7,755 people of Tan Phu commune.
Tan Phu town borders the communes of Minh Dai, My Thuan, Tan Son, Thach Kiet, Thu Ngac and Xuan Dai.
After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Phu Tho province has 13 district-level administrative units, including 11 districts, 01 town and 01 city; 207 commune-level administrative units, including 180 communes, 15 wards and 12 towns.
