In 2025, Ha Long City will have more than 6,400 elderly people aged 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100 and over 101 years old.
Longevity celebrations in wards, communes and residential groups take place in a solemn, joyful and frugal atmosphere, showing gratitude to the elderly.

Representatives of local authorities and organizations came to congratulate, send best wishes and give birthday gifts.
The city also organized 14 delegations to visit and present gifts at 14 locations, each location including a gift box worth 2 million VND. Dai Yen ward and Thong Nhat commune - two localities with over 100 elderly people - each received two gift boxes, the total cost of the longevity gifts was 5.5 billion VND.
At the ceremony, the city leaders warmly visited, wished the elderly a happy new year, gave lucky money and encouraged them to continue to promote the spirit of living happily and healthily, and to be a shining example for their children and grandchildren. At the same time, they called on authorities at all levels to continue to pay attention to and implement policies to care for and protect the elderly, especially those in difficult circumstances.
This is the second year that Ha Long City has organized a longevity celebration at the beginning of spring. The activity not only shows gratitude for the contributions of the elderly but also contributes to preserving and promoting the tradition of “respecting the elderly and longevity” – a beautiful cultural feature of the Vietnamese people.
