In order to create favorable conditions for people and tourists to travel in spring and go to temples during the Lunar New Year and the early 2026 festival season, Hanoi City organizes many free vehicle parking points, contributing to reducing traffic pressure and ensuring urban order.
According to records, free parking spots are arranged in many areas with a large concentration of people visiting, participating in cultural and religious activities such as Bach Ma Temple, Hanoi Cathedral area, Ha Pagoda... Organizing free parking helps limit the situation of spontaneous parking lots and high prices during festival days.
Previously, the People's Committee of Cua Nam ward had arranged free bicycle and motorbike parking points at some schools in the area, including Trung Vuong Secondary School (26 Hang Bai), Tran Phu - Hoan Kiem High School (8 Hai Ba Trung), Ngo Si Lien Secondary School (27 Ham Long) and Viet Duc High School (47 Ly Thuong Kiet). Free parking time from 5:00 PM on February 16 to 1:00 AM on February 17, 2026; and from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on February 17-22, 2026.
In the Chua Ha area, Cau Giay Ward Police also organized free parking spots to serve people going to temples at the beginning of the year. Many people expressed surprise and satisfaction when they did not have to pay parking fees. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi (Nghia Do ward) said that in previous years, going to temples at the beginning of the year often had to park at spontaneous parking lots at high prices, which was both costly and insecure. "This year, parking is free, and there are functional forces watching over it, so I am very reassured," Ms. Chi shared.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Le Dung (Dich Vong Hau ward) said that the government's organization of free parking helps people travel in spring and go to temples with a more comfortable mindset. "This Tet, Hanoi City is implementing many free services such as buses, urban railways, parking... These models need to be further replicated to bring more joy to people every Tet and Spring," Mr. Dung said.
The deployment of free parking spots not only creates convenience for people and tourists but also demonstrates the proactiveness of local authorities in organizing traffic, ensuring urban order and security during the early year festival.
Along with that, Hanoi City also requests localities and units to strictly implement regulations on urban order, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting and environmental sanitation; arrange sufficient manpower, equipment, clearly list information, ensuring convenient and safe service for people throughout the Lunar New Year and the 2026 spring festival season.
